Oral History Society Training Courses

There are four courses currently available. Information about each can be found by clicking the link below or the menu button on the left of the page. At the bottom of each page, you will also find a programme and link to a booking form, in PDF format, relevant to the course you are currently viewing.

Courses:

An Introduction to Oral History
Digitisation and Digital Editing: An Introduction for Oral Historians
Transcript to Script: Turning oral history into plays for stage and radio
Lives in Focus: Recording oral history interviews on video

A course tailored to the needs of your project group and based on the Introduction to Oral History course (see this link for details) can be arranged.

As with the Introduction course the maximum number of attendees is twelve. An OHS/British Library accredited trainer comes to your premises or a venue you have booked. The basic cost is £350 per day plus the trainer’s expenses and we endeavour to find a trainer local to you so that costs can be kept to a minimum.

If you would like to explore this option please send details of your project, the number in the group, what you require from the course, and possible dates (bearing in mind that we will require at least six weeks notice) to Rob Perks (rob.perks@bl.uk). He will match your requirements with a member of the training team who will contact you directly.

Further training dates will be posted on this site as they are confirmed. Please email rob.perks@bl.uk for further details.
